Jacques Pineau meets the young École de Nice at Sigma 5 in Bordeaux in 1969. “Jacques Lepage invited me for the 3rd Rencontres in Coaraze, a great time with no regulators and thus, no violations! Art thrives under this challenge. (...) We leave Bordeaux for Nice: in Coaraze, I produce a work in situ from the catalogue of trade union initiatives already stripped of its cover. Troves of gold: a harvest of little things found onsite, rosemary, thyme, olive branch, bark, pebble, straw, strawflowers, goat dung, inventoried and gathered in labeled bags. I took some photos with painted highlights.”
