Description:

Ben organized an exhibition « À moitié happening à moitié œuvres » (« half happenings and half works » called Le litre de Var supérieur coûte 1f66 (A Quart of Vintage Var Wine Costs 1f66). The artists featured included Marcel Alocco, Robert Bozzi, Georges Brecht, Chubac, Erik Dietman, Jean-Claude Farhi, Olivier Mosset, Yves Klein, Serge Oldenbourg as well as Claude Viallat who was showing his « forme » (“shape”) for the first time. The entire Fluxus group was present. Later in the evening Robert Filliou, Brecht and Francis Mérino organized la Tournée des 13 bars (Going to 13 Bars for a Drink) : one had to drink a glass of rosé in each bar.

Dick Higgins and Alison Knowles, along with Robert Filliou, Dona Joe Jones and Marianne and George Brecht, participated in the bar-hopping evening Le Litre de Var supérieur rouge coûte 1F66 (A Quart of Vintage Var Wine Costs 1f66 [performance for the exhibition at the gallery a, Editor’s note]). At the end of the evening Dick fell and broke his arm. He finished the evening at the Saint-Roch Hospital.
