Here is the presentation text which was read as an introduction and which best describes the performance:

In 2003 as I was preparing my entrance exam to the music school, I had a dazzling intuition: I was convinced that I would be able to acquire perfect pitch. Perfect pitch is the ability to recognize a musical note without external reference such as a tuning fork or a music instrument. It is an innate ability which children sometimes possess, whether they are musicians or not, and according to scientists after the age of seven it can no longer be acquired. I was convinced that I had perfect pitch but that a mysterious blockage had prevented me from “developing” it serenely. So starting on November 11, 2003 (my birthday), every day when I got up in the morning I tried to find the note A and wrote the result in a notebook, after comparing it with a tuning fork or with my piano. On January 3, 2006, after more than two years of sometimes discontinuous research, I painfully admitted that I would never have perfect pitch. The score for this performance corresponds to this searching for the A, an octave higher to make it more comfortable for my voice. The days on which I failed to follow my own rule of trying to find the A, are marked by silences. I asked Jean Dupuy, who is like an artistic “father” to me, to participate in my performance by incorporating his freestyle singing at the end, which he entitled Sainte Geneviève Waltz or Hesitation Waltz. This performance was the first of a series concerning my research. The series A includes performances requiring 0 means (financial, logistical, technological, time etc.)
