Dandelion

Performance type:
action sonore
Creator:
Aymeric Hainaux
Performer:
Aymeric Hainaux
Theoretical background:
Solitary, a hitchhiker, a wanderer, Aymeric Hainaux is alive, without any compromise and fully within his expression (drawing, writing, painting, music, video).

Dent-de-Lion is a very personal approach to tension and silence, a free music coming from the inside. Hainaux only uses a microphone, some harmonicas, bells or an accordion but mostly his main instrument: himself. Beside an echo pedal, there are no effects, no machines, no loops, live action only!

In intense performances each time original and the reproduction of which would kill the meaning, Aymeric Hainaux returns through body and breath language what has been inhabiting him, what he has accumulated through his experiences. A human beat box with an ultra precise rhythmic downpour, sudden explosions, muscular tension, heartbeats, silences and secret rustling… All those things, brutal and fragile, come to celebrate the living and immediacy of the present time.

Description:
Night has already fallen. Aymeric stands in the little lit part of the space where he has set up, various objects scattered on the floor around him. He is holding the microphone. The audience is sat in a circle around him.

He starts, standing, silent, looking down to the floor. Little by little we perceive a breath, friction, a heartbeat. Cries of seagulls punctuate this silence with minute noises.

Aymeric will thus construct little by little a sound atmosphere, made of noises coming from deep inside the body. Fusing the beat box with the sounds of the object he has put all around him following an inspiration or a trance, the music of the body and breath alternates with quasi-silent moments with the most total saturation, with deeper vibration up to the lightest ringing. Aymeric plays with sound and echoes.

The performance ends with the disappearance of an echo.
