Description:

The public action Conscious Vandalism II was performed in the MAMAC’s Contemporary Art Gallery a few days before the exhibition’s opening. A living room is recreated down to its most minute details. Arman destroys it, first using a shovel, then with an ax, to the point of exhaustion. This is a reproduction of the action Conscious Vandalism, performed April 5, 1975 at the John Gibson Gallery in New York.
