Description:

In front of a group of friends invited to this occasion, I performed a work, Accident Piece. This work gathers thirty-some bars. They are against the wall, leaning slightly towards being off balance. Using a forklife, or more directly by hand, I push a few bars, causing the majority of them to fall. This collapse that lines the wall creates a heap – messy, scattered, and often unstable. It is the final result that interests me, a product of chance which leaves visible components of the sculpture. With these sculptures, I try to achieve the best possible match between a fomal, simple, elementary vocabulary and the structural principles that bring it to life.
