Equipment: a Steinway grand piano, an epidiascope, blank transparencies ready for use with colored markers, microphones. Eric and Joseph\u2019s first investigation concerned the institutional terms of the event to which their performance was contributing, in other words \u003Cem\u003ESpring for the Poets \u003C\/em\u003Eand \u003Cem\u003ESong of the Cities\u003C\/em\u003E: were these metaphors? Or couldn\u0027t they be called hyperboles, or even metonymies or synecdoches ? A presentation (with songs) on rhetorical figures and the uncertainties in their classifications: for example how are we to understand that cities sing? Eric and Joseph started chanting a litany of names of French cities, which at least would enable us to hear the song of the names of cities.
