Theoretical background: 

cARTed, friend-made sculpture in which the process, comprised of a series of international postcard exchanges between artists, festive moments, inaugurations of each series at friends’ places here and there, was invented by Pascal Pithois. We decided that the Winter-Spring 2008 series would be inaugurated at Olivier Garcin’s place, Le Garage 103, Ceci n’est pas une galerie. Meeting 227.

Description: 

This is a global performance with several stages.

- 1st stage : Pascal Pithois launched the process of producing postcards in artistic networks several years ago : as such, this “friendship sculpture,” as an action weaving the links between the members of the artistic community, is a performance on a global scale, an action in development.

- 2nd stage : The friendly relationship established by this action drives Pascal Pithois to ask Olivier Garcin to open the inauguration of the postcard series during a friendly encounter at Ceci n’est pas une galerie (in the OG studio, known as “Garage 103”) : as such, this “action”  is a “action” in the art community, a performance in the staging of the event : a drink, refreshments, meeting, signature, submission of boards on the day of the inauguration.

- 3rd stage : the evening of the inauguration. It includes a program of performative interventions : readings, sound poetry, actions, performances.

4th stage : the circulation of documents and information on the web pass along and put the entire proposal in the artistic network system and on the web (www).
