To illustrate my Appropriations/Restitutions of Places, while the action Siège sur la modèle de château Gaillard (Siege on the model of Château Gaillard) was in progress, I decide on February 1, 2001 to restage an exhibit done August 4, 1994 in Beauce, Cinq cents tonnes de paille pour treize tableaux (Five hundred tons of straw for thirteen paintings), an exhibit seen at the time by a ten or twelve people. I took an old color photo of this action in 1994 and a drawing on bristol board from 2001 and connected them to a dozen spools of colored thread placed on the floor of the room where my 2000 portraits already were.
